Hello. Nice to meet you.

My name is Karla, I am an MD and former surgeon, I am passionate about helping people build healthier lives through nutrition, mindset, and sustainable habits.

I earned my medical degree and trained in general surgery in Mexico, and after years in the operating room, I came to see that true health is built long before illness appears. That realization led me to shift my focus from treatment to prevention—using food, education, and behavior change as the foundation for long-term health.

Having lived in Mexico for much of my life and in Italy for a year, I’ve been deeply influenced by different cultural approaches to food, health, and daily living. These experiences shaped my understanding of what “healthy eating” can look like across cultures, as well as the unique challenges and roadblocks people may face depending on their background and environment.

I’m also a longtime military spouse to a cardiologist, which meant moving often and learning how to create consistent, healthy routines in the midst of change. After my husband’s retirement, we finally settled in Davis, California, where we live with our energetic triplets.

Today, I combine my medical training with evidence-based nutrition and coaching strategies to create educational programs and courses designed to simplify nutrition and support sustainable lifestyle change—without extremes, guilt, or confusion. My work is grounded in science, shaped by real life, and focused on helping people build habits that last.
